Turkey Shepherds Pie
  • 1 can turkey gravy
  • ΒΌ cup milk (or more)
  • 1 cup cooked carrots
  • 1 cup frozen peas , defrosted
  • 2 cups turkey , cubed
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese (optional)
  1. In a large bowl, combine the turkey gravy and milk. Whisk to thin the gravy.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients except the mash potatoes to the gravy mixture: carrots, peas, turkey and thyme. Gently stir together until well combined.
  3. Transfer the turkey mixture to a large casserole dish. Level out the mixture before spooning (or piping) the potato mixture over top. This works best when the potato mixture is warm. Sprinkle with shredded cheese if using.
  4. Heat in a 350 F oven for 20 minutes or until heated through. Can also be frozen at this point.
