Do you ever find a recipe that inspires you to make it? Like, immediately?? That’s what this Peach Lemonade did for me from Fearless Homemaker. You know how they say your eat or drink with your eyes first? Well, that certainly didn’t hurt. But just think for a moment. Homemade lemonade. Flavored with fresh peaches. Can we say delicious? I love this recipe as a jump off point too – using these basics, I can make strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, even black berry lemonade. Adjusting the sugar levels in the fruit would be the trick.
So back to how I had to immediately made this recipe. I hollered to my husband I was running to Costco (which is a half hour drive I might add) and grabbed my partner in crime. My little shadow is my daughter. She loves coming on all of mommy’s little escapades and loves mostly all of mommy’s creations that have come out of the kitchen so it’ a win-win situation for her.
When we got home I had 5 lbs of lemons and a big flat of peaches to enjoy. Only I didn’t realize so much time had passed since we left and I had hoped to served this lemonade to my girlfriend that was coming for dinner in less then 3 hours. Oops!
So I cut a few short cuts and chilled my lemonade in the freezer when I could (yes, major faux paux as it warms up my freezer) but it was a major emergency, wouldn’t you agree??
I used regular white sugar in my recipe but if you’re looking for a healthier version, consider using agave syrup or honey. You’ll just have to adjust the sweetness to your personal preference. The recipients of their glass of Peach Lemonade raved about how delicious and perfect it was for the hot, sunny summer day. I was thinking how delicious it would be with a shot of peach schnapps or vodka in a martini glass.
