I’ve been making this chocolate chip cookie recipe for over 10 years. It’s a soft, chewy cookie that’s not too sweet, just perfect. I have literally made thousands of these cookies. I never make just one batch. It’s like when my grandmother used to make perogies. She would make batches and batches because her three adult kids would show up with the seven grandchildren (and spouses) and we would stand around her kitchen devouring perogies, bacon and sour cream. If there is one thing I’m known for, THIS is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe you’ll ever try. I call this my Office Winning chocolate chip cookie recipe because no one in my office has been able to top this recipe, everyone says its the best. (to my face, maybe there’s something I don’t know??)
When my son was 4 years old, my cousin held a yard sale and I set my son up with a cookies and juice stand so he could have his first taste of entrepreneurship. We made this chocolate chip cookie recipe. Well, let’s just say my son made more money then my cousin that day (oops!) and people were coming back for seconds before they left. That was the beginning of my son’s business. When he got a little older, we would spend Friday evenings in the kitchen together baking up batches of cookies, muffins and brownies. I would have to make at least 4 batches of these chocolate chip cookies because they would be the first thing to sell out. Oh the fun we had in the kitchen and the business lessons I taught him. We talked about cost of goods, break even, mark up and profits. He started making so much money, I started bringing him shopping for any ingredients he needed so he could have the full business experience. I know, I’m a mean mom.
