Do you have a favourite recipe for making home made pizza? I’ve searched the Internet high and low to come up with the perfect pizza dough recipe. Let’s be honest… there’s a lot of great recipes out there. I finally settled on this recipe as my go-to when my family is begging for homemade pizza but I’m still searching. This recipe is nice and soft and can be rolled out pretty thin which is why my family loves it so much. What’s your favourite pizza recipe?
Maybe you’ve discovered that fantastic cauliflower pizza crust (I’m still looking for one BTW). Would you be willing to share your pizza dough recipe?

- 1 cup + 2 tbsp warm water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cups bread flour
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
- Add the yeast to the warm water in the bowl of an upright mixer, and let sit for 10 minutes until it foams. Add the remaining ingredients to the bowl. Use the hook to mix everything together and let it knead the dough for about 5 minutes.
- Place a piece of saran wrap and put it aside to proof. When the dough fills the bowl, you’re ready to get rolling.
This recipe makes a lot of dough. You’ll get two 12 inch regular crusts or one deep dish pizza from this recipe.
Make ahead: This recipe would be great to make ahead and freeze. (freeze after step #1 above) When you’re in the mood for pizza, just take it out to defrost in the morning and it will be ready by supper. Place the frozen dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover with a tea towel, place in a draft free place. (inside the microwaves works great)
