I wouldn’t normally label myself a procrastinator, however, sometimes life just gets in the way of my good intentions. Like when it dawned on me that my son’s birthday party was the next day and even though I had saved MANY different cake ideas to Pinterest, I had yet to select and execute one. Oops. As luck would have it, my girlfriend suggested this Kit Kat Chocolate Cake.
You can find the directions for this cake from A Spoonful of Sugar which also includes the recipe for a yummy chocolate cake. My son asked me to make his cake from the Rainbow Chip from Betty Crocker box mix. The nice thing about this cake is the kit cats cover up, ehm, any imperfections. I used Smarties instead of M&M’s because my daughter loves Smarties and she was helping me do the shopping.
This is the final result. It came together quickly and easily, with little fuss. Considering my son went back for a third helping, I take it he really enjoyed it too… which is all that matters!

Howdy, i read your blog occasionally and i own a siiamlr one and i was just curious if you get a lot of spam comments? If so how do you protect against it, any plugin or anything you can advise? I get so much lately it’s driving me insane so any support is very much appreciated.
Hi, my friend is a professional cake maker and funnily enough did something fun like this for a birthday at the weekend. Yours looks truly slick! Admittedly she then did a few tiers below and various matching cup cakes. But seriously, I am considering having a bash at yours for my sons birthday too. Well done you.
Thanks! Good luck with your cake, would love to hear how it turns out. 🙂

Fantastic blog you have here but I was wondering if you knew of any disosusicn boards that cover the same topics discussed in this article? I’d really like to be a part of group where I can get advice from other experienced people that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Thanks a lot!
