So I’ve learned this past week my family does not like spicy food, particularly cumin. I was getting frustrated by all the amazing looking recipes I kept finding on The Slow Roasted Italian that inspired me only to have my family not like them. I personally really liked them, but I guess I took too long to introduce spice in our food.
I’m going to keep trying, maybe I’ll go slowly – there are so many wonderful recipes I still want them to try. Instead of being upset with them for not liking my recipes, it dawned on me that I should just accept their taste buds for what they are and find more mildly flavored recipes to try. If you like heat and flavor, this burger is definitely for you!
Bacon Cheddar Miner’s Burger
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp HP sauce
1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cumin
onion rings
BBQ sauce
mayonnaise
bacon, cooked
slices of cheddar cheese
hamburger buns
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat grill to high.
- Season hamburger meat with spices, mixing together with your hands.
- Divide hamburger meat into 4, roll into balls with hands and flatten with plate to create patties slightly larger then your buns. The burgers will shrink slightly as they cook.
- Cook the burgers on the grill until cooked through. Do not press burgers with your spatula as you cook them as this will dry out the burger.
- Top your burger with cooked onion rings, BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, cheese, bacon and any other tops you desire.
